TAKDA IS CONNECTED!

Though not as fast as your DSL or FIBR , our library finally has a reliable internet connection with the help  of  an outdoor antenna !

Online Class

The need for a remote teaching is now possible in Takda with the commitment of Peter Paul Masacayan.

The class  which is composed high school students and older elementary graders, covers basics of MS Office , Search Engines , using important applications like Zoom

The class meets every Tuesday and each student is given some hands-on assignments every week.

A quick summary report of Takdang Aralan.

(August, 2020)

The Pandemic is a game changer but it does not change the plans of the LORD..the awesome plan of redemption.

Weeks before Covid19 hit the Philippines I was praying “LORD, give me wisdom please..what do you want us do for Takda in the next 3 years? “. Then the pandemic came and I asked for direction even more.

The Department of Education says there will be no face-to-face classes, the school will have to resort to online solutions– something that is really so new to the children. Let us hope the government will provide enough hardware for these poor children. But whether the supply is sufficient or not , the need to assist the students on the “how” is paramount, so we are burdened to have the following in September:

    1. Two Full-time Teacher/Tutors who will assist the children in the “new normal” set up
    2. Three Computers with high specs
    3. Repairs and modifications in the Takda Library to ensure safety.

As always, next to GOD we rely on our friends to partner with us. So we are having a special online concert to raise funds for the 3 items. We are so blessed to professional artists sharing their music , their hearts…. will you also share yours?

DepEd’s decision to move the opening of classes to October gave us a window of one month to prepare the students for the new normal education.  Having no mental stimulation for 8 months should be very challenging for the public school learners.

Praise the LORD for giving us the burden, the vision and the resources.  With the two dedicated teachers ,the support of the barangay chairman, and the cooperation of the parents, TAKDA’s new normal supplemental education is all set .

The total number of students is 76 of which 10 are highschoolers. On the  first day of  the program, some 20 more parents are asking to enroll their children but we had to hold them for a while so as not to interrupt the designed safety grouping and strategic schedule.  We also do not want to compromise the quality of our output by taking more than what we can manage.  But we will eventually accommodate new students soon as we figure out  a good solution.

The Laptop is still a prayer item.  For now we are using the old computer for printing purposes.  As an act of faith, we acquired an outdoor 4G signal booster for a reliable internet once we have the hardware we have been been praying for
